If you know me, you know my first stop after checking into any hotel is straight to the robe. I will robe up before I even unpack my bags, and I will absolutely test the limits of where a robe can be worn. Breakfast buffet, lobby bar, you name it. There’s just something about that plush, oversized luxury that makes me feel like the most relaxed, radiant version of myself. So when I started dreaming up the Robe Dress, it was exactly that vibe I wanted to bottle up and wear out into the real world.
I designed this piece as an homage to my lifelong obsession with luxe hotel robes. But of course, I had to make it fashion. I love a short hem, I live for a dramatic sleeve, and I truly believe a good wrap dress can flatter any figure. That’s why this one features a cinched waist with an interior tie for security, voluminous sleeves for that subtle drama, and a mini length that feels flirty but still wearable. I wanted it to feel effortless, indulgent, and a little cheeky. Like you just might be heading to a spa or a martini bar or maybe both.
The process of creating this dress was incredibly personal. I worked closely with our production partner in Bali to source the perfect gauzy cotton waffle that feels like your favorite robe but wears like a dream. We tested the drape, the fit, the flow. Everything had to strike that balance between elevated and easy. I wanted something that you could throw on and instantly feel like you have arrived. I want people to question if you ACTUALLY dared wear your hotel robe out to the bars. But comfortable enough to actually lounge poolside. Whether that’s arriving to your kitchen or a chic rooftop soirée is totally up to you.
I chose to shoot this collection at the iconic Shangri-La Singapore, a hotel I've long adored for its timeless charm and old-world elegance. But it was discovering the Valley Wing Suites that truly sealed it for me– tucked away like a secret, the Valley Wing feels like stepping into a different era of hospitality, where everything is polished, serene, and impossibly chic. It perfectly mirrored the feeling I wanted the robe dress to evoke: something indulgent, elevated, and wearable far beyond the lobby.
So yes, the Robe Dress is part fashion statement, part lifestyle manifesto. It’s for anyone who’s ever said, “Why can’t I wear this robe out of the house?” and meant it. With this dress, you absolutely can, and you’ll look iconic doing it.
